ABOUT
A NEW (ART) WORLD
A NEW (ART) WORLD was created to solve a structural problem: the dependence of cultural production on funding systems that shape what can be said, who is visible, and what survives.
It began as a shared recognition among artists, curators, writers, organizers, and patrons, across disciplines and geographies, that the current system was not just under pressure, but fundamentally misaligned with the values it claimed to uphold.
ANAW emerged as a movement to build something different: a framework for cultural independence that is not symbolic, but functional. Not reactive, but durable.
Why We Exist
Traditional arts funding stifles dissent.
Market forces dictate visibility, value, and survival.
Cultural workers deserve autonomy—financial, creative, and structural.
What Are We Doing
We operate as a structural platform, offering tools and support for cultural workers to shape independent futures. This includes:
Fellowships and Support Programs – for artists and organizers working beyond traditional institutional pathways
Publishing and Media – to amplify perspectives that are often excluded
Talks, Courses, and Convenings – for knowledge exchange, strategy, and skill-building
Project Matchmaking – connecting cultural ideas with partners who can help realize them
Sustainability Experiments – building new models of resource circulation across the cultural field
Our Commitment
We operate beyond extractive models, aligning with those who build rather than censor.
We prioritize clarity, accountability and independence over affiliation or access.
We are here to build.
